of the bark or kino is used for thrush while the young leaves are
applied for boils, ulcers and prickly heat, and the root extracts

cancers, especially for the mouth (Hartwell 1971). Endo and Miyasaki
(1972) also reported that the dried cold water extract of the leaves
injected in mice significantly inhibited the growth of Ehrlich ascites
carcinoma cells in mice.
Recent pharmacologic studies on Narra have already been done. Acute and subchronic toxicity studies
have shown relative safety of the Narra tea preparations submitted for investigation. Mutagenicity
also demonstrated that the extract do not pose any carcinogenic potential.
